Tips for Opening the Third Eye Chakra

The third eye is the center of what is called clairvoyant, or clear vision sight, and refers to the higher sense ability to see or perceive subtle energies.  Because of its capability of accessing impressions that lie beyond the regular five physical senses. the third eye chakra is described as the mind working together with all your senses, hence the label "sixth sense."
The third eye is an instrument that gives access to energies, translating them into forms, colors, pictures, and  possibly visions. It also includes the ability to see chakras and aura energies around people, plants, and animals and well as perceiving non-physical realms including angels and other dimensional beings.
"If therefore your eye be single, your whole body shall be full of light." Matthew 6:22

All of our senses and chakras (energy centers) are translating energy around us. The third eye chakra, located between the two physical eyes and expanding up to the middle of the forehead when open, vibrates at one of the highest frequencies of all the chakras, second only to the crown.  Opening and accessing the third eye chakra allows us to function at a higher spiritual level, access a greater sense of knowing or intuition, and translate higher vibration energy into something we can perceive. For some, the third eye is already open.  For others, it  happens through trauma or some such life changing event.  For most of us, there is a process involved.  The good news is that although it requires patience and practice, opening it can be pretty easy and straightforward.
Meditation is the first step order to begin the process of opening the third eye chakra.  The key is to find whatever works for you to enter the meditative state, where your mind is free your emotions are stable,  and therefore able to operate in a higher state of consciousness. Do it daily; the more you do it and the deeper you go, the easier it gets.
You don't need to sit in a certain position staring at a blank wall for hours. You can, but you don't have to.  Maybe it works for you taking a walk on a nature trail, driving a car down a quiet road, pulling weeds in the garden, standing in a hot shower (this works for me). You can use whatever method works for you.
Meditating works well because it raises your frequency (remember our previous post about why you'd want to raise your frequency).
Meditation Frequencies:
174 Hz: Removes Pain
285 Hz: Influences Energy Field
396 Hz: Liberates you of Fear and Guilt
417 Hz: Facilitates Change
432 Hz: Miracle Tone of Nature
528 Hz: Repairs DNA
639 Hz: Heals Relationships
741 Hz: Awakens Intuition
852 Hz: Attracts Soul Tribe
963 Hz: Connects with Light and Spirit
Along with meditating, you can use essential oils of the highest vibration levels and of quality therapeutic grade. These oils allow us to elevate our energy centers to higher levels.  Some of the highest frequency oils include Lavender, Frankincense, Helichrysum, Idaho Blue Spruce, Sandalwood, and Rose.
 Rose Essential oil
Blends like Sacred Mountain, Forgiveness, Grounding, and Joy are also of the highest vibration levels. Use in a diffuser, sniff from the bottle, or apply topically to the location of the third eye between the brows to increase vibration during meditation and help reach that optimal working level.
There are other additional things you can do to open your Third Eye as well.  A hand gesture or position called the Kalesvara mudra whereby you make a heart shape using both hands is an age old tool to calm the mind and take control of thoughts and emotions.  By the way, you can google how to make the gesture.  It's really fairly easy to accomplish.  You can also chant the third eye mantra called "ohm".   According to yoga experts, the chanting of "Ohm" drives away all worldly thoughts, removes distractions, and infuses new energy in the body.  There are many examples on YouTube if need to actually hear how it's done.
"Close both eyes to see with the other eye." Rumi
Most all agree that a combination involving one or more of the above mentions ways give optimal results.  Some people do all of them together.  It just depends on what works for you.  Chances are you are already using it, but perhaps not to the fullest potential.  That gut feeling you get, that sense that you know something but don't know how or why...that's your sixth sense, your third eye working.  It doesn't matter what your starting point is; you may be wanting to open it, access it, or enhance the use of it. You can do it with patience and practice.

DIY Soothing Muscle Rub

Soothing Muscle Rub
I've been sending Panaway Essential Oil to everyone I know who could use its soothing benefits on their muscles and joints. If you think essential oils are just things that smell nice, or that people who say their bodies benefit from them are just drinking the proverbial koolaid, then I dare you to try Panaway. It's one of those oils that you cannot doubt once you've tried it, and the wonderful thing about it is: its actually like 4 bottles in one!
Panaway essential oil can (and perhaps should) be diluted before use and still be quite effective.
One way of diluting is to pump carrier oil into your hand, and then add a drop of the panaway before rubbing on your skin to soothe joints and muscles.
Another way is to do the same as above with an unscented lotion.
This past weekend, I had fun making a mess of my kitchen by using Panaway to make these salves to give to friends.
Want to make them? Here's what you need:
1/2 c Beeswax
1 c Coconut Oil
20 drops Panaway
(you could just stop there, but I added in a couple other oils)
10 drops Copaiba (copaiba is a powerful anti-inflammatory, and is also known to boost the effectiveness of other oils it is paired with)
5 drops Peppermint (great for tension, and smells divine)
Melt the beeswax in a double boiler, then stir in the coconut oil.
Remove from heat, drop in oils, and stir.
Spoon (or pour) into tins or glass jars.
*pro tip: You may see bubbles in your liquid, try to avoid adding these to the tins or jars, as they are water that has separated from the coconut oil and will settle to the bottom of your tins/jars as the salve hardens, causing you to get all annoyed (or maybe that's just me)
This recipe should make 8 two ounce tins.
**Panway (along with Copaiba and Peppermint) comes in the Young Living Premium Starter Kit, which is an amazing deal and great way to get started into the world of essential oils. The Premium Starter Kit also includes 8 other oils, natural household cleaner, antioxident rich Ningxia Red juice, a diffuser, and a wholesale membership so that once you see how freaking amazing essential oils are, you can restock or try out other oils for 24% off. There's no need to sell anything - EVER, but...if you refer a friend, Young Living will send you $50 for each friend you refer!!

Essential Oils for Grief

Essential oils for Grief
Although we may each process it differently, anytime we lose a loved one, we experience feelings of grief. Some of us may hold it inside, some may completely break down, but whatever your method of grieving, essential oils can offer support.
Citrus oils such as lemon, grapefruit, bergamot, and orange are uplifting and can help to instill joyful emotions.
Tree oils such as Cypress, Cedarwood, Frankincense and Juniper help to keep us grounded and offer strength.
Roman Chamomile soothes feelings of abandonment and helps to bring the heart back to center.
Marjoram can help supplant negative thought and feelings of disconnect.
Young Living also has some wonderful blends for supporting emotions associated with feelings of grief and loss.
Release and Joy essential oil blends
Release, which is helpful in releasing pent up emotions. Harnessing trapped emotions can have a negative impact on our body systems and overall wellbeing. A person who is emotionally healthy allows themselves to feel the emotion in its full force, and then releases it.
It is not uncommon to put a drop of this Release blend on your palm, rub your hands together, inhale, and then burst into tears. That's ok. Remember, feel the emotion, and then release it.
After using Release, you may want to roll Young Living's Joy blend over your heart. Joy is a combination of Bergamot, Ylang Ylang, Geranium, Lemon, Coriander, Tangerine, Jasmine, Roman Chamomile, Palmarosa, and Rose. This beautiful blend helps to bring joy to our heart, mind, and soul.
"There is nothing that can take the pain away. But eventually you will find a way to live with it. There will be nightmares. And every day when you wake up, it will be the first thing you think about. Until one day, it will be the second thing." Raymond Reddington
Losing a loved one can be one of the most painful experiences we have, and one that may never fully go away, but let us find comfort in knowing that as time passes, we will find the strength to continue on, and our loved ones will always be with us. In our hearts and memories.
If you are reading this, I wish you strength and peace.
