Tips for Opening the Third Eye Chakra

The third eye is the center of what is called clairvoyant, or clear vision sight, and refers to the higher sense ability to see or perceive subtle energies.  Because of its capability of accessing impressions that lie beyond the regular five physical senses. the third eye chakra is described as the mind working together with all your senses, hence the label "sixth sense."
The third eye is an instrument that gives access to energies, translating them into forms, colors, pictures, and  possibly visions. It also includes the ability to see chakras and aura energies around people, plants, and animals and well as perceiving non-physical realms including angels and other dimensional beings.
"If therefore your eye be single, your whole body shall be full of light." Matthew 6:22
sacred frankincense
All of our senses and chakras (energy centers) are translating energy around us. The third eye chakra, located between the two physical eyes and expanding up to the middle of the forehead when open, vibrates at one of the highest frequencies of all the chakras, second only to the crown.  Opening and accessing the third eye chakra allows us to function at a higher spiritual level, access a greater sense of knowing or intuition, and translate higher vibration energy into something we can perceive. For some, the third eye is already open.  For others, it  happens through trauma or some such life changing event.  For most of us, there is a process involved.  The good news is that although it requires patience and practice, opening it can be pretty easy and straightforward.
Meditation is the first step order to begin the process of opening the third eye chakra.  The key is to find whatever works for you to enter the meditative state, where your mind is free your emotions are stable,  and therefore able to operate in a higher state of consciousness. Do it daily; the more you do it and the deeper you go, the easier it gets.
You don't need to sit in a certain position staring at a blank wall for hours. You can, but you don't have to.  Maybe it works for you taking a walk on a nature trail, driving a car down a quiet road, pulling weeds in the garden, standing in a hot shower (this works for me). You can use whatever method works for you.
Meditating works well because it raises your frequency (remember our previous post about why you'd want to raise your frequency).
Meditation Frequencies:
174 Hz: Removes Pain
285 Hz: Influences Energy Field
396 Hz: Liberates you of Fear and Guilt
417 Hz: Facilitates Change
432 Hz: Miracle Tone of Nature
528 Hz: Repairs DNA
639 Hz: Heals Relationships
741 Hz: Awakens Intuition
852 Hz: Attracts Soul Tribe
963 Hz: Connects with Light and Spirit
Along with meditating, you can use essential oils of the highest vibration levels and of quality therapeutic grade. These oils allow us to elevate our energy centers to higher levels.  Some of the highest frequency oils include Lavender, Frankincense, Helichrysum, Idaho Blue Spruce, Sandalwood, and Rose.
 Rose Essential oil
Blends like Sacred Mountain, Forgiveness, Grounding, and Joy are also of the highest vibration levels. Use in a diffuser, sniff from the bottle, or apply topically to the location of the third eye between the brows to increase vibration during meditation and help reach that optimal working level.
There are other additional things you can do to open your Third Eye as well.  A hand gesture or position called the Kalesvara mudra whereby you make a heart shape using both hands is an age old tool to calm the mind and take control of thoughts and emotions.  By the way, you can google how to make the gesture.  It's really fairly easy to accomplish.  You can also chant the third eye mantra called "ohm".   According to yoga experts, the chanting of "Ohm" drives away all worldly thoughts, removes distractions, and infuses new energy in the body.  There are many examples on YouTube if need to actually hear how it's done.
"Close both eyes to see with the other eye." Rumi
Most all agree that a combination involving one or more of the above mentions ways give optimal results.  Some people do all of them together.  It just depends on what works for you.  Chances are you are already using it, but perhaps not to the fullest potential.  That gut feeling you get, that sense that you know something but don't know how or why...that's your sixth sense, your third eye working.  It doesn't matter what your starting point is; you may be wanting to open it, access it, or enhance the use of it. You can do it with patience and practice.

DIY Soothing Muscle Rub

Soothing Muscle Rub
I've been sending Panaway Essential Oil to everyone I know who could use its soothing benefits on their muscles and joints. If you think essential oils are just things that smell nice, or that people who say their bodies benefit from them are just drinking the proverbial koolaid, then I dare you to try Panaway. It's one of those oils that you cannot doubt once you've tried it, and the wonderful thing about it is: its actually like 4 bottles in one!
Panaway essential oil can (and perhaps should) be diluted before use and still be quite effective.
One way of diluting is to pump carrier oil into your hand, and then add a drop of the panaway before rubbing on your skin to soothe joints and muscles.
Another way is to do the same as above with an unscented lotion.
This past weekend, I had fun making a mess of my kitchen by using Panaway to make these salves to give to friends.
Want to make them? Here's what you need:
1/2 c Beeswax
1 c Coconut Oil
20 drops Panaway
(you could just stop there, but I added in a couple other oils)
10 drops Copaiba (copaiba is a powerful anti-inflammatory, and is also known to boost the effectiveness of other oils it is paired with)
5 drops Peppermint (great for tension, and smells divine)
Melt the beeswax in a double boiler, then stir in the coconut oil.
Remove from heat, drop in oils, and stir.
Spoon (or pour) into tins or glass jars.
*pro tip: You may see bubbles in your liquid, try to avoid adding these to the tins or jars, as they are water that has separated from the coconut oil and will settle to the bottom of your tins/jars as the salve hardens, causing you to get all annoyed (or maybe that's just me)
This recipe should make 8 two ounce tins.
**Panway (along with Copaiba and Peppermint) comes in the Young Living Premium Starter Kit, which is an amazing deal and great way to get started into the world of essential oils. The Premium Starter Kit also includes 8 other oils, natural household cleaner, antioxident rich Ningxia Red juice, a diffuser, and a wholesale membership so that once you see how freaking amazing essential oils are, you can restock or try out other oils for 24% off. There's no need to sell anything - EVER, but...if you refer a friend, Young Living will send you $50 for each friend you refer!!

Essential Oils for Grief

Essential oils for Grief
Although we may each process it differently, anytime we lose a loved one, we experience feelings of grief. Some of us may hold it inside, some may completely break down, but whatever your method of grieving, essential oils can offer support.
Citrus oils such as lemon, grapefruit, bergamot, and orange are uplifting and can help to instill joyful emotions.
Tree oils such as Cypress, Cedarwood, Frankincense and Juniper help to keep us grounded and offer strength.
Roman Chamomile soothes feelings of abandonment and helps to bring the heart back to center.
Marjoram can help supplant negative thought and feelings of disconnect.
Young Living also has some wonderful blends for supporting emotions associated with feelings of grief and loss.
Release and Joy essential oil blends
Release, which is helpful in releasing pent up emotions. Harnessing trapped emotions can have a negative impact on our body systems and overall wellbeing. A person who is emotionally healthy allows themselves to feel the emotion in its full force, and then releases it.
It is not uncommon to put a drop of this Release blend on your palm, rub your hands together, inhale, and then burst into tears. That's ok. Remember, feel the emotion, and then release it.
After using Release, you may want to roll Young Living's Joy blend over your heart. Joy is a combination of Bergamot, Ylang Ylang, Geranium, Lemon, Coriander, Tangerine, Jasmine, Roman Chamomile, Palmarosa, and Rose. This beautiful blend helps to bring joy to our heart, mind, and soul.
"There is nothing that can take the pain away. But eventually you will find a way to live with it. There will be nightmares. And every day when you wake up, it will be the first thing you think about. Until one day, it will be the second thing." Raymond Reddington
Losing a loved one can be one of the most painful experiences we have, and one that may never fully go away, but let us find comfort in knowing that as time passes, we will find the strength to continue on, and our loved ones will always be with us. In our hearts and memories.
If you are reading this, I wish you strength and peace.

!2 Best Essential Oils for Physical and Emotional Support

12 best essential oils for physical and emotional supportIt's no secret that the world is catching on to the powers of essential oils - especially, pure, therapeutic grade oils. Yes, those are definitely different than the oils you find down at your local grocery or department store, so if you're looking for oils that do more than just put out an aroma, definitely do your research before buying.
Let's go over my top 12 oils for supporting our body systems and emotions:
#1 - Peppermint
Head tension? Rub some peppermint on your temples. Nausea or tummy troubles? Peppermint. Potty training a little one, or just having trouble "going?" Put a drop of peppermint in the potty. Peppermint essential oil has a uplifting aroma that will help get you motivated, focused, and ready to take on the day. It's cooling sensation is also great for sore muscles - just be sure not to get it in your eye because that won't be fun. Also great for the respiratory system and for curbing appetites.
Peppermint Essential oil        Lemon Essential Oil
#2 - Lemon
Lemon essential oil may just be the best degreaser ever.  It's also amazing at removing sticky substances (like labels and stickers). Lemon has an uplifting scent and is also great at aiding in focus and memory. It's a wonderful skin brightener (just be cautious when applying before going in the sun, as it can increase photosensitivity). Antioxident rich lemon essential oil contains Limonene, and if I were you, I'd go do a quick web search on the awesomeness of that.
#3 - Thieves
If you have an immune system (surprise - you do), you should not be without Thieves Blend. It is an abosolute powerhouse for your immune system. Containing Clove, Rosemary, Lemon, and Cinnamon, this blend should be rolled down your spine or on the bottoms of your feet daily to keep your body well. You can learn more about this amazing oil and other oils that help support your immune system by clicking here.
Thieves Essential Oil        citrus fresh essential oil
#4 - Citrus Fresh
Citrus Fresh smells just like it sounds - like fresh citrus. It's great for cleaning the air, dropping on wool dryer balls (because I know you're not using the toxic dryer sheets anymore, right?), and non-toxic cleaning. Add a few drops to baking soda to make a carpet sprinkle, or a few drops to a spray bottle of witch hazel for a room freshening spray. Like all citrus oils, it has an uplifting scent that's great for mental focus, and is wonderful for immune support.
#5 - Digize
Digize is probably not an oil you'd want to use as a perfume (unless you love black licorice), but Digize is an oil you'll never want to be without. If you have tummy troubles - I don't even care what kind of tummy troubles, any tummy troubles at all - you need Digize. My kids and hubby swear by it, and so do I.
Digize essential oil        raven essential oil
#6 - Raven
Raven essential oil is ahh-mazing for all things respiratory. This was the first oil that ever made an impact on me after years of trying cheaper oils. I had chest congestion and when I rubbed this on my chest it provided me with so much relief that I was just amazed. My oldest uses a roller of this mixed with fractionated coconut oil on his chest in the winter, and it has greatly reduced the amount of times he has needed his inhaler.  You can also make a simple chest rub by adding a few drops of Raven to a small jar of coconut oil and stirring.
#7 - Panaway
Panaway essential oil blend is a must have for bone and joint health, muscle tension, head tension, bumps and bruises, and circulatory support. You're going to want to make a rub with coconut oil or a roller ASAP when you get this bad boy because the relief it provides is insane!
pan away essential oil        lavender essential oil
#8 - Lavender
Everyone knows lavender - that's because lavender is awesome! It's great for immune support, wonderful for skincare, helpful for bumps and cruises, and cognitive function. It can provide relief during ladies' time of the month, and is simply the best for sleep and relaxation.
#9 - Frankincense
The don't call Frankincense the king of oils for nothing! It's grounding aroma is great for prayer and meditation, relieving stress, and aiding in relaxation. Frank is good for sleep support, immune support, respiratory support, and support at the cellular level (please do a quick search on the powers of Frankincense and you'll see why you never want to be without this oil). Be aware, there are a few different Frankincense varieties, and this one is Boswellia Carterii. That's important when searching for the benefits. Also note that the process for obtaining Frankincense is very lengthy, and if you're buying a bottle for $10 - it's likely not real. Frank is also wonderful for skin support, so get it on your face stat!
frankincense essential oil        stress away essential oil
#10 - Stress Away
Pretty self explanatory. Use Stress Away for tantrums/stress, mental focus, sleep support (don't pair it with Lavender in the diffuser unless you want to fall asleep asap!).
#11 - Valor
Valor is a highly coveted blend because it does all the things! In today's high stress world, Valor gives your the courage to get through the day. It contains Blue Tansy, which is super beneficial to your spinal cord (a place where we  tend to store up our tension and anxious feelings - one reason it's great for alignment). It also smells like blueberries, so you can't really go wrong. Many people use it as a cologne or perfume.
Valor and Peace & Calming
#12 - Peace & Calming
I saved the best for last (yes, I'm totally biased) because Peace & Calming is my favorite and smells like heaven! It's great for emotional support, sleep support, and I totally use it as my perfume.  This is a great tantrum taming oil too!

Photosensitive Essential Oils

Photosensitive essential oils
We live in Florida, so sunshine is just part of our daily lives, which makes it super important that we are aware of the safety info about essential oils and the sun.
Certain oils are called "photosensitive," which means that when they are applied topically, they will increase our skin's reactivity to the sun's UV rays. The oils themselves do not burn, but we are more likely to get a sunburn because the oils make our skin more reactive to the light of the sun.
Most of the photosensitive oils are from the citrus family and the blends that contain citrus, but there are a few others as well. Thankfully, Young Living places a caution on the label of every oil that has a chance of increasing photosensitivity.
Essential oil photosensitivity warning labelNow, this doesn't mean that we need to stop using our beloved citrus oils in the summer or if we live in a sunny place. We just need to exercise caution. If you know you're going to be spending the day outside in the sun, just apply your oils to a location that won't be exposed or wait and apply them at night. You could also drop them on diffuser jewelry if you like to wear your citrus scents during the day.
If you do end up applying a photosensitive oil, just be sure to dilute and wait the recommended time before sun exposure.
I've made a list of the essential oils and blends from Young Living that are photosensitive, but when in doubt, just refer to the caution label on your oil bottle.

How you Raise Your Frequency Using Essential Oils

Most of us are familiar with the saying, "Raise your vibes!"  Quite frankly, I have always translated this to mean "Be positive" or "Don't worry, be happy!" And in part, that's true.  There are many ways to raise your vibration, but one of the quickest and most effective ways is by inhaling therapeutic grade essential oils.
So, what does all this "raise your vibes" really mean?
Why do we care?
And how do we do it?
High Frequency Oils
Turns out that everything from a rock to a human body is made up of constantly moving energy.  This energy is organized by waveforms and frequencies.  The rate of frequency at which a rock or human body vibrates is called its vibration, and is measured in MHz.
A healthy human body is around 7 MHz
almonds 50 MHz
broccoli 70 MHz
cooked hamburger around 3 to 5 MHz
processed or canned food around 0 MHz.
So, why do we care about raising our vibes?  The reason is because raising and lowering our vibrations effect our mind, body, and spirit.  Our natural state of being is one of high vibes (vibration) and positively impacts us.
Conversely, factors such as negative thoughts, processed food, and environmental toxins can lower our vibes and adversely effect us:
Human cells can start to mutate when their frequency drops below 62 MHz.
A cold or flu starts to set in at 58 MHz.
At 42 MHz, cancer can appear.
The death process begins around 20 MHz.
See where I'm going?
Not only can we raise our vibes, but we can keep our frequencies high.
Remember, disease starts when our frequencies drop below 62 MHz.  Crisis, disturbing news, relationship issues, worry...you name it! Something is always bringing our frequencies down, but we can raise our vibes several ways.
Positive thoughts and words, meditation, prayer, and inhaling essential oils can all raise our vibes.
Positive thoughts 72-78 MHz
meditation 77-83 MHz.
Lavender oil 118 MHz
Frankincense oil 147 MHz
Rose oil 320 MHz.
Of course, we're talking about therapeutic grade oils here. By the way, most Young Living blends vibrate at around 80 MHz in case you were wondering.
High Frequency Essential Oils
So here's how oils can raise your frequency: the scent is inhaled through the nose and sent directly to the brain, (in particular, to the limbic system) which is the center for emotions and emotional behavior. Mood enhancers like serotonin and endorphins get released.  Almost immediately (depending on the oil), you may begin to feel more alert, calm, relaxed, or happy.   You may feel the release of negative emotions and soothing of tension or anxiety.
Fatigue, low energy, non-motivation, anxiety, emotional pain, depression, loneliness, poor memory and concentration, stress, low self-esteem. fear, grief and sadness, anger irritability... there's a oil that can help! A myriad of essential oils such as Bergamont  Blue Tanzy, Clary Sage, Lemon, as well as others are frequently used by world-wide clinics, hospitals, and therapists.
Smell may very well be the most awesome of the senses!  Our sense of smell is 10000 times more powerful that the other senses.  Better yet, the recognition of smell is almost immediate.  (The other senses such as touch have to travel up the spinal cord to the brain to be processed.  Remember, smell travels straight to the brain.) Smell is the strongest link to the emotional subconscious mind and also to the collective unconscious mind where memories are stored... but that's a story for another day.
The WHO (World Health Organization), The Mental Health Foundation, and a long list of others confirm that our emotional, mental, and physical health are interconnected.  All it takes is a few drops of theraputic grade oil on diffuser jewelry, in a roller, rubbed on neck after mixing with a carrier oil, added to the bath water, or diffused... we can do that!
Let's raise our vibes!

How to use Essential Oils to raise your vibrations

Young Living Shampoo and Conditioner Review

A little back story: I had switched away from shampoos containing sulfates and parabens a WHILE ago because - know better, do better:
"studies have shown that some parabens can mimic the activity of the hormone estrogen in the body’s cells, and while estrogenic activity is associated with certain forms of breast cancer, parabens have been found present in breast tumors. Sulfates are concerning because they were found to break down proteins, which can lead to a degenerative effect on the cell membranes. Sulfates were also found to leave residue in the heart, lungs, and brain"
In the past year or so, I also began paying attention to labels which listed "fragrance" as an ingredient. Since the term "fragrance" can mean any of thousands of undisclosed chemical combinations, I knew I didn't want that massaged into my scalp anymore.
The only shampoo I could find locally that didn't contain the "F word" was the Everyone Brand, and I really liked it, but Target stopped selling it in the store, so I had to start ordering it online. I figured, if I have to order my shampoo online anyway, I might as well just give the Young Living shampoo a try since I get 20% back on it anyway through Essential Rewards, so I added it to my order.
Natural Shampoo and conditioner
It arrived (smells heavenly), and I put it to the test yesterday - the new shampoo AND conditioner. The shampoo is THICK, but doesn’t suds up (if you’re already using natural shampoo this is nothing new, but if you’ve been using Pantene or something, it will take some getting used to). I used a dime size on top of my head and a dime size on the underneath (I have thick hair). I know shampoos normally say use a dime-sized amount, but I usually use like 2 silver dollars worth. 😂🤷‍♀️ This one is so thick I did two dimes.
I've heard from others who have tried this shampoo that since it is so thick, they dilute it half and half with water. And others who really just like suds, so they add in a teaspoon of baking soda. I'm used to suds-free, so that part doesn't bother me, but I might try diluting it - I'll keep you posted.
Now, the really good part - the conditioner:
holy.
moly.
Ladies: you know when you buy box hair color and they give you that magical little tube of amazingly thick conditioner that you wish you could just buy separately because its so thick and wonderful that your hair feels like silk afterwards? Yeah. It’s like that. So thick and creamy it comes out of the bottle like a fettuccini noodle instead of a liquidy squirt.
And: it’s smells AMAZING 😍🙌
Definitely a happy girl!
If you're looking for all natural hair care products, I would definitely have to recommend Young Living's Lavender Mint Shampoo and Conditioner.
Best all natural shampoo and conditioner
